Cornerstone Automation Systems (CASI) is a privately held, state-of-the-art software, engineering, and production company that designs, manufacturers, and implements turnkey intelligent automation order fulfillment and receiving systems for warehouse and central pharmacy operations that serve a broad base of industries. The Company is owned by Management and other investors.
Position Description
We are seeking a motivated, self-managed Buyer II who will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services. Duties will include but are not limited to effectively managing vendor relationships, ensuring the quality of materials and services, and executing competitive pricing and contractual terms in support of the company, factory, and project requirements.
Responsibilities
Procurement of non-inventory expensed commodities, bulk consumables, fixed assets, and supplies.
Procurement of mechanical, electrical, and fabricated components and subsystems.
Provide analytics and reporting to support cost reductions and improve supplier performance that results in tangible benefits to the bottom line
Leverage changing market cost drivers to evaluate and purchase materials and services at a competitive cost
Utilize strong analytical skills to assess realized benefits from sourcing, and develop improvement strategies
Become a Subject Matter Expert of category-specific information on spending and supplier performance relative to industry benchmarks
Utilize category/commodity knowledge to support business objectives
Leverage ERP system for improved efficiencies and cost improvements
Qualifications
Minimum 2-5 years of purchasing experience, with a focus on electro-mechanical components
Bachelor’s Degree in business, Finance or Engineering, or professional certification
Ability to complete tasks and maintain deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Experience with mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation
Experience with SQL-based ERP systems
Experience with parcel & freight logistics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, Kanban, pull systems, supply chain management
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
Global Procurement experience
All successful candidates must have:
Two forms of valid documentation
Ability to pass a background checks and drug test
Must be authorized to work in the United States
